Today, Legislator Jay Schneiderman (I-Hampton Bays) announced his bid for Southampton Town Supervisor and will seek the Democratic, Independence, and Working Families Party nominations. With the recent news that Supervisor Throne-Holst will not seek re-election Schneiderman is pleased to announce his candidacy.
During his tenure in office, Schneiderman championed the East End with 16 consecutive years of property tax reductions, fighting to protect the environment, ensuring that all drinking water is safe, and protecting the quality of life.
"While I do not have all of the answers, I have is a wealth of experience and a willingness to reach out to all members of the community to develop consensus drives solutions" Schneiderman said. "I look forward to a spirited campaign filled with ideas about how to move Southampton forward, and I hope the residents of this extraordinary town will give me the opportunity to serve them as their Town Supervisor."
